Samdech Techo Hun Sen: Importing tanks from China is to increase national defense capabilities, not to invade any country.
Phnom Penh: Samdech Techo Hun Sen has come out to clarify some doubts surrounding the import of tanks from the People's Republic of China, stating clearly that this is a decision to strengthen the ability to protect territorial integrity and enhance the armed forces only.
On that occasion, Samdech Techo firmly emphasized that Cambodia adheres to a peace-loving foreign policy and has never provoked aggression against any country. Strengthening the national defense sector is a mandatory obligation of a sovereign state to prepare for self-defense and ensure national security in accordance with the Constitution.
Samdech Techo added that cooperation with Chinese friends in the military sector is based on trust and historical friendship, which does not affect the interests or pose a threat to any neighboring country.
